I have the same dress - is yours hemmed shorter? I'm 5' 3" and sometimes I think the dress is a little long on me but was afraid to hem it for fear of losing the effect of the zippers!
There is something about khaki coloured jackets and black and white stripes tops, they just work beautifully. It is one of my go to styles in my wardrobe that always works!

I did not hem the dress, but did buy a size smaller than normal!
The vest is actually a jacket (which I linked to) in which the sleeves, lining and collar are removable!

Where Left meets Right. I am using your style accumen to see if a fatter 50+ lady can put outfits together like yours and look stylish. I am modifiying the clothing to be a bit more age appropriate ie longer hem length& somewhat lower heel heights. I believe that truely great style will translate and in essence be timeless. I noticed that you pair soft drapey dress with rugged jackets. You also have put knit dresses with both tailored jackets and rugged jackets. So I tried to put together a few looks like this as well.
